About Us

Who we are

Kima, Inc. is a USA based corporation owned by Olympians. We manufacture and distribute Trinity 3IN1 and Kima brands of athletic shoes and apparel worldwide. We produce basketball shoes, soccer boots, running shoes, spike shoes, leisure shoes, soccer jerseys, track suits, sweat suits, socks, duffle bags etc. The Sports Development Consulting division of Kima, Inc (KimaSports) is involved in the design and implementation of grassroots sports programs that identify future star athletes before their 12th birthday.

As athletes who went through the school sports system and rose to become Olympians, we have a clear understanding of how great athletes are produced. Through the participation of Kima consulting team members in the American Collegiate sports system, several Olympic Games and numerous international competitions, we are familiar with and have benefited from the best training programs in the world. Additionally, we have seen how the programs being implemented by the best sporting nations of the world have produced Olympic Champions. The Kima sports development model has benefited from these worldwide experiences and we are convinced that ours will produce Olympic and numerous international champions/medals in all age group competitions within four to eight years of its inception.

The Kima consulting team is comprised of top performing Olympians, successful professional athletes and world class coaches from Nigeria, USA, Jamaica, Cuba, and Bulgaria. The purpose of the Kima program is to identify talent at an early age and expose them to well designed training programs (age appropriate) that will enable them to improve progressively as they develop into international champions. Secondly, and for participants, we emphasize good quality education that runs concurrently with the sports training program. Therefore, our program is implemented within the primary and secondary school system, all the way to university level. Keeping the program within the school system means that at the end of their sporting careers, they have the required education background to make a living and to contribute to the development of their country/society as responsible citizens. Also, a school based program enables us to identify and train the young athletes in a controlled and closely monitored environment (boarding house) where they can perfect their athletic skills, improve their performances and prepare for international Junior and possibly senior competitions, including the Olympic Games.

The diligent implementation of this program in Cross River State, Nigeria, from 2010 to 2015 produced such great results that it has been acclaimed as the preferred model for grassroots sports development in Nigeria. Below are some of the accomplishments of the Kimasports program within five years of implementation in Cross River State (CRS), Nigeria. In 2009, before the program started, CRS was 10th out of 36 states at the Nigerian School Sports Festival (NSSF)

  • First year of the program 2010, CRS improved to 6 th place at the NSSF.
  • At the NSSF 2011, CRS emerged first place and national champions for the first time in the history of the state.
  •
  • Since 2011, CRS has now won the NSSF for four consecutive years (2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014) and are the current defending champions. CRS has the second best team overall in Nigerian elite athletics today.
  • CRS has the best junior team in athletics, boxing, weight lifting and swimming in Nigeria today.
  • In 2012, five CRS youths from this program represent Nigeria at the Africa Zone II Under-17 Swimming Championship. They won 14 gold medals, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.
  •
  • Since 2010, 21 athletes from this program have been admitted into Nigerian universities with full scholarship from program funds.
  • We organized annual coaching workshops and seminars for school games masters/mistresses, and local coaches. There are over 1200 participants annually.
  •
  • Annually for five years, we organized the CRS Primary and Secondary Schools Athletics and Swimming Championship in Calabar. During the third year, we added boxing and weightlifting competition to the championship. Athletes from all 18 local Government areas participated in this four day event where we discover our best talent.
  • The program obtained admission with full scholarship for four of its athletes who are currently studying and pursuing their athletics careers in U.S. universities.
  •
  • Eleven athletes from our program (athletics, boxing and weightlifting) were in national camp preparing to represent Nigeria in the All Africa Games in September, 2015.
  •
  • Three athletes (Blessing Odion Ofonime, Endurance Essien, and Goodnews) left Nigeria in 2015 and chose citizenship of Bahrain to pursue their sports career. In July 2016, Blessing Odion Ofonime won the gold medal in the 200 meters women event, at the IAAF U-20 World Championship held in Poland. This was the first gold medal won by a Nigerian in the history of this competition. Endurance Essien was 7th in the 100 meters women while Mercy Ntiaobong, representing Nigeria, was 8th place in the same race. All three athletes were discovered, groomed and nurtured to stardom by this program. 3 © Copyright. All Tights Reserved. Kima Inc.
